Cellar
Public test — 16 October 2026
The opening has been rebuilt around quicker production, customer choices and a village picnic. First time here? Please tell us in the comments where you got to, what was unclear, and what made you want to keep playing or stop. If you reached the picnic, did it feel like a satisfying ending? Please mention phone or desktop.
Existing progress is preserved and keeps its previous pacing. To try the new opening without replacing your save, use a private browser window.
You are the cellarmaster: a mouse in a red cap, a winch, a brick for a counterweight, and twelve spaces on the shelves.
- Cheese ages in real time. Every wheel is ready, then ripe, then Vintage. Sell early for small money, or wait and watch its worth climb. Nothing spoils.
- Turn the wheels when they ask, for a little more worth. Miss a turn and nothing goes wrong.
- Each shelf has its own air. Cheddar likes it cool, Cellar Blue damp; in the wrong air a cheese ripens at half speed.
- Hire Pip and Moss. Pip sells and lays down the next batch; Moss turns the wheels. They keep working while you are away.
- Notes at the grating. Callers write in for one particular cheese and pay well over its worth. A note waits as long as it takes.
- Dig deeper. The Cold Store, the Damp Vault and the Long Room keep cheeses that take hours, a night, or three days.
- The County Show every Sunday: enter your best wheels against the other cellars. Nothing bought can raise a score.
- Sell the cellar when you are ready, for reputation that makes every wheel worth more in the next one; then build machines in the Workshop and found house cheeses of your own.
- Music from real gramophone records of 1906 to 1921.
No adverts, nothing to buy. Progress saves in your browser; no personal data is collected. Plays on phones (upright) and PCs.
